I had my mill and lathe running for a while in my 14th floor apartment. I ran them both in the 'bedroom' which was really used as a small workshop. I rigid tap with a regular motor and an Automation Direct GS2 VFD controlled via the gs2 component and an encoder connected to the spindle shaft. JT.

13/10/2013Hi, I'm new to this forum, and preparing to purchase either a Grizzly G0704 or a Quality Machine Tools (QMT)/Precision Matthews PM-25MV. I've been told by QMT that the quality of their machine is much better (better electronics, no need to scrape/lap, etc.) than the grizzly. I'm leaning toward QMT, but trying to VERIFY that the quality really is better.

02/05/2015Oh, and we also had a baby.But even 6-month-old Izzie is excited about our newest shop addition, a Grizzly G0704 milling machine.. I just got it bolted down to the floor and assembled.
